PARTIALLY HYDROGENATED FATS (PHF)
This is a very big deal!
We feel that at some point in the future is will be shown that PHF’s are a major factor in the ill health of the United states. PHF’s are “bad fats”. They are stabilized to provide for shelf life for products they are added to.
What is so bad?
The brain is 60% fat. Neuroreceptors and chemoreceptors of the body are lipid layers (fat layers). Inside the cell there are little strictures called mitochondria. These mitochondria are the powerhouses of the cells and therefore for the whole body. 90% of the body’s energy is made in the mitochondria. For them to produce the energy a lipid layer (fat layer) is present.
If the good fats are replaced by the bad fats trouble is soon to follow in all these areas. This will be discussed in full in the “nutrition” spoke of the wheel of health.
