HEALTHY JOINTS
For your joints to truly be healthy they need to move. Motion truly is life!
A joint is where two bones come together. There are several types of bone joints. "Freely movable joints" are referred to as synovial joints. Because of their anatomy, there cannot be blood vessles or nerves in a freely
movable joint. They would be crushed by the bone.
Normally nutrients are carried to the body by the blood and waste products are returned for processing by the venous blood. If this is true, then the joints must get their nutrition form another source.
A joint gets its nutrition from the fluid that surrounds the joint. This fluid is called synovial fluid. It covers the joint surfaces and bathes the surfaces in nutrients. Without this nutrition the joint begins to starve.
A recent study showed that joints that were immobile showed signs of degenerative changes within two weeks.
For you to have healthy joints it is vital for the joints to move on a regular basis to keep the nutrients moving. The byproduct of a sedentary lifestyle with limited activity is slow starvation of the joints. Unfortunately these are long term results that may not manifest for decades. But, make no mistake, the results will show up eventually.
Set a plan today to get your body moving and keep it moving for the best health of the joints possible.
