The
art of healing comes from Nature, not the physician... Every illness has its
own remedy within itself... A man could not be born alive and healthy were
there not already a physician hidden in him. - Paracelsus

Herb of the Week
Peppermint Tea:
With all the cold and flu and upset stomachs
going around this is one herb to remember! Peppermint tea will stop vomiting and
sooth the stomach to let you get back to eating. Celestial Seasonings has a nice one
available at all grocery stores. “Purely Peppermint”. (Do not get blends.)
Product of the Week
Ultimate Meal:
This is a whole food meal replacement/supplement. Many have used this as a healthy
weight loss then continue because of the increased energy, feeling healthier,
and stronger nails. This takes
some dedication at first because of the unusual taste, but it truly grows on
you. It has personally become
something I will not do without.
Patient Success
Stories:
62 year old patient with hip pain that was
causing the leg to occasionally collapse. Pain gone by 3rd visit and
Psoas work.
Female Patient noted that her ears started draining
after her cervical adjustment.
Ears were clogged and ear drops weren’t helping.
Child patient was excited to report her
knees no longer hurt when running after just two visits!
Pregnant patient was battling migraines and
poor sleep throughout pregnancy.
After just two visits reported no migranes and sleeping good.
These patients are experiencing first hand
what millions of chiropractic patients know: Under chiropractic care your
body has to work better. Many symptoms that you experience every day can be
an indication for a chiropractic exam.
Chiropractic will NOT treat those symptoms but will help the body do
what it is designed to do – HEAL ITSELF WITHOUT DRUGS! If you know of others who suffer from
similar problems, recommend chiropractic care for help!

All
Your Parts Are Connected (to the nerves that come from your spine)
They start in
your brain, travel down your back and touch all your body parts: your nerves.
This illustration
shows how your heart, lungs, kidneys, reproductive organs, liver, eyes,
hears, digestive and other organs, all your muscles, glands and systems
receive energy, nutrients and information from the nerves that come from your
spine.
This is essential for
their proper health.
Your skull and spinal column protect your delicate brain and nerves. However
stress of all kinds: birth stress, postural stress, accidents, toxins,
nutritional and emotional stress can misalign your spine. A misaligned spine
will then damage or irritate the very nerves they are supposed to protect:
this is called a vertebral
subluxation.
When you have a
vertebral subluxation, the flow of information, nutrients
and energy traveling through your body is disturbed and your body works less
efficiently - it is dis-eased. You have lowered resistance to disease and you
are not at your physical and emotional best. You can't handle stress as well.
Chiropractors
spend thousands of hours learning to locate and correct this major cause of
body malfunction (or dis-ease), the vertebral subluxation.
Only a chiropractor is trained to check you for, and correct, vertebral
subluxations in your body. Because subluxations may occur at any time we recommend you
visit periodically for a checkup. And don't forget to bring in your family!

Jack LaLanne
Before there was Jane Fonda, before there was Richard Simmons, there was the
"Godfather of Fitness," Jack
LaLanne.
Jack LaLanne is an inspiration. He is 88 years old and in excellent health.
When he was a young man of 70 he towed 70 boats carrying 70 people across Long
Beach harbor (California).
His wife of 48 years has never known him to be sick. He lives his philosophy:
"The only way you hurt the body is inactivity. You don't get old from
calendar years. You get old from quitting doing things. That's why people who
are 35, 40 years old start to slack off, their muscles atrophy, fat
accumulates, and your muscles actually go away and you start losing your
strength, your vitality, your energy. You lose your enthusiasm because you
quit using it. You've got to kick yourself every day and do something!...You
know, if you can't spend 15 or 20 minutes taking care of the most important
person on this earth - you - you've got to be a psycho!" (1)
One of Dr. LaLanne's famous quotes is: "Old age is always 20 years
away." Yes, it's Dr., not Mr. LaLanne, as he is a doctor of
chiropractic. So is his daughter.
One last word from Dr. LaLanne: "Look around, any fool can die. It takes
guts to live."

Words of Wisdom
Children today are tyrants. They contradict their parents, gobble
their food, and tyrannize their teachers. - Socrates
It is better to be rich and healthy than
poor and sick. - Dave Barry
There are two great rules of life: never tell
everything at once. - Ken Venturi
It is a sin to believe evil of others, but
it is seldom a mistake. - H.L. Mencken
When a husband brings his wife flowers for
no reason, there's a reason. - Molly McGee
A woman worries about the future until she
gets a husband. A man never worries about the future until he gets a wife.
- Old Proverb
Childhood Vaccination
Robert S.
Mendelsohn, MD, world-famous pediatrician and best-selling author, began
speaking out against childhood vaccination soon after he began a column on
health. His book How to Raise a Healthy
Child in Spite of Your Doctor is a bible to many parents who don't
like to run to the doctor every time their child shows some symptoms. Dr.
Mendelsohn writes on immunizations:
"Much of what you have been led to believe about immunizations simply
isn't true. I not only have grave misgivings about them…I would urge
you to reject all inoculations for your child." Dr. Mendelsohn makes
five important points to back up his statement:
1. There is no convincing scientific evidence that mass inoculations can be
credited with eliminating any childhood disease. . . .
2. It is commonly believed that the Salk vaccine was responsible for halting
the polio epidemics that plagued American children in the 1940s and 1950s. If
so, why did the epidemics also end in Europe,
where the polio vaccine was not so extensively used? . .
3. There are significant risks associated with every immunization and
numerous contraindications that may make it dangerous for the shots to be given
to your child. . . .
4. While the myriad short-term hazards of most immunizations are known (but
rarely explained), no one knows the long-term consequences of injecting
foreign proteins into the body of your child. . . .
5. There is a growing suspicion that immunization against relatively harmless
childhood diseases may be responsible for the dramatic increase in autoimmune
diseases. (2)
Breast Milk is Alive?
Human milk is alive with beneficial bacteria that aid an infant's digestion
and help prevent diarrhea (a frequent cause of death in developing countries)
and with immunoglobulins that protect infants from disease. In one study a
group of infants fed artificial milk had $68,000 in medical care costs in a
six-month period while an equal number of nursing babies had only $4,000
worth. In Brazil an
artificially-fed baby is 14 times more likely to die than an exclusively
breastfed baby and at least 4 times more likely to die than an infant
receiving both mother's milk and artificial milk. (3)
Breastfeeding Increases in Popularity
A recent article appearing in the medical journal Pediatrics states that if increases in breastfeeding
continue at the current rate (approx 2% yearly), in-hospital breastfeeding in
the US should meet or exceed the Healthy People 2010 goal of 75% for the
early post-partum period. (4)
Chiropractic and Spinal Research
Remember, a
person with any kind of health
problem needs chiropractic. Feel free to forward these studies to others.
Disc Herniation and Chiropractic.
21 patients with CT scan diagnosed lumbar disc herniation and nerve root pain
found their condition resolve after chiropractic. A follow-up CT scan 6
months later showed the herniation reduced or disappeared in most patients.
(5)
HIV and Chiropractic. Men with
HIV and AIDS were divided into two groups. Half began receiving chiropractic
care. All continued medical treatment. After 6 months, those in the control
group (not under chiropractic care) suffered a decline of 7.96% in CD4 levels
(and two deaths) while the group receiving chiropractic adjustments
experienced a 48% increase in CD4 cell counts (no deaths). (6)
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.
An 8-year-old boy with ADHD also had constant throat congestion, raspy voice,
ear infections, upper respiratory infections and back pain. He had
experienced seizures when he had infections and was on Phenobarbitol. ™
Whenever he stayed up late he got sick. Symptoms of poor health started
immediately after birth which was with forceps and vacuum extraction.
After 4 weeks chiropractic care his mother reported "dramatic
improvements." He sits still for much longer periods, no longer had a
raspy voice or back pain, has improved disposition and no longer gets sick
when he stays up late. (7)
Multiple Sclerosis. A
32-year-old man with fatigue, gait imbalance, diplopia, and numbness from the
lower trunk to the legs. He had a family history of MS. A medical neurologist
and a medical radiologist both confirmed with MRI the diagnosis of MS. After
the first chiropractic adjustment, the patient reported complete absence of
symptoms. Months later, the patient reported remaining symptom free.

Humor
English is a crazy language: There is no egg in eggplant nor ham in
hamburger; neither apple nor pine in pineapple.
English muffins weren't invented in England nor
French fries in France.
Sweetmeats are candies while sweetbreads, which aren't sweet, are meat.
Quicksand can work slowly, boxing rings are square and a guinea pig is
neither from Guinea nor a
pig.
And why is it that writers write but fingers don't fing, grocers don't groce
and hammers don't ham?
If the plural of tooth is teeth, why isn't the plural of booth beeth?
One goose, 2 geese . So one moose, 2 meese ? One index, 2 indices?
Doesn't it seem crazy that you can make amends but not one amend.
If a vegetarian eats vegetables, what does a humanitarian eat?
If teachers taught, why didn't preachers praught?
In what other language do people recite at a play and play at a recital? Ship
by truck and send cargo by ship? Have noses that run and feet that smell? How
can a slim chance and a fat chance be the same, while a wise man and a wise
guy are opposites? Your house can burn up as it burns down, in which case you
fill in a form by filling it out and in which an alarm goes off by going on.
English was invented by people, not computers, and it reflects the creativity
of the human race, which, of course, is not a race at all.
Thanks
